Morning Briefing: Mining Americas Receive Key Approvals for Cerro de Oro

Good morning and welcome back to the Mining Stock Daily morning briefing.

It's Thursday, September 3rd.

A broad bounce across the metals this morning. Gold is up 1.15% to $4,438 an ounce. Silver is higher by 0.74% to $65.80. Copper is up 0.58% to $6.54 a pound.

Brent crude is pushing toward triple-digit territory this morning, up another 1.63% overnight to $97.19 a barrel, as continued geopolitical tension in the Middle East following this week's exchange of airstrikes between the United States and Iran keeps energy markets on edge. The combination of rising oil and a rallying gold price reflects the market pricing in elevated geopolitical risk.

Brazil's Congress has approved a government-backed bill establishing a national policy on critical and strategic minerals. The policy creates a 2 billion reais guarantee fund and 5 billion in tax credits over five years to attract foreign investment into a sector where Brazil holds the world's second-largest rare earth reserves after China. Separately, Bloomberg is reporting that Barrick Mining is weighing a delay of its planned North America gold IPO to 2027, having told analysts on its August 10th earnings call that the deal was on track for year-end.

We will get to the news from the miners and explorers in a moment, but first a mention of today's sponsor:

Today's episode of Mining Stock Daily is brought to you by…Revival Gold.

Revival Gold is a gold exploration and development company advancing two projects in the western United States: the Beartrack-Arnett Gold Project in Lemhi County, Idaho, and the Mercur Gold Project in Utah. On August 4th, the company reported one of its highest-grade-thickness intersections to date at Beartrack-Arnett — 3.43 grams per tonne gold over 131.7 metres. Revival also has a 16,000-metre drill program underway at Mercur. Revival Gold trades on the TSX Venture Exchange as RVG and on the OTCQX as RVLGF.

Here’s what you need to know today.

Mining Americas has received key environmental approvals from Mexico's SEMARNAT for its 100%-owned Cerro de Oro open pit heap leach gold project in northern Zacatecas — with both the land use change permit and the environmental impact assessment now in hand, clearing the path for the company to begin planning a construction decision. The 2023 PEA modeled an 8.2-year mine life averaging approximately 58,000 ounces of gold annually at just $28 million in initial capital at a $1,600 per ounce gold price. The company says they will reassess the figures in current materially higher gold price environment. Mining Americas trades on the TSX as MAI and on the OTCQX as MAIFF. NEWS RELEASE

Hole CMR26-199 returned 49.2 metres at 4.7% copper equivalent in South Wall Zone 1, including 27.0 metres at 8.4% copper equivalent and a high-grade copper core of 13.1 metres at 10.3% copper equivalent, confirming the continuity of the Zone 1 copper-rich core. A second hole, CMR26-201, extended the mineralization approximately 50 metres downdip at 40.4 metres grading 3.0% copper equivalent, with 15 additional holes pending assay across the HG, AG and other targets expected through the fall. Collective Mining has advanced the newly defined Orion target to drill-ready status at its Guayabales project in Colombia. 2026 surface work outlined a 350- by 300-metre mineralized footprint one kilometre east of the Apollo system, where rock samples returned up to 7.43 grams per tonne gold, 230 grams per tonne silver, and 0.26% copper coincident with a discrete magnetic high interpreted to represent a porphyry source at depth. Drilling at Orion commences this week, with the Victory target, which is a newly reinterpreted copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry-breccia system, set to follow in Q4-2026, adding two new drill fronts to a project where 13 rigs are already active. Collective Mining trades on the TSX and on the Nasdaq both under the symbol CNL. NEWS RELEASE

Resource definition drilling is now complete across 19,496 metres in 76 holes, with a resource update planned for next year and drilling at the adjacent San Manuel project expected to commence this fall. Faraday Copper trades on the TSX as FDY and on the OTCQX as CPPKF. NEWS RELEASE
