Morning Briefing: Kenorland Minerals Report High-Grade Results at Frotet

Good morning and welcome back to the Mining Stock Daily morning briefing. I’m Trevor Hall.

It's Monday August 25th.

Last week’s headlines were all about Jerome Powell’s Jackson Hole comments. The preserved dovish comments caused the dollar to fall and everything else, to rally, including the stock market and precious metals. With the dollar down about 1 % in the wake of his remarks, gold futures rallied more than 1 % and closed the week at $3,371 per ounce at spot. Spot Silver closed the week at $38.87 an ounce. The market is now pricing in rate cuts through December as Powell noted risk to the labor market are increasing amid elevated inflation and suggested the Fed may adjust its restrictive stance. This week has potential for more market fireworks with Nvidia earnings out mid week. Weekly jobless claims are published on Thursday. Personal Consumption Expenditures will be published on Friday.

We’ll get to the news from the miners and explorers here in a moment, but first a quick word about today’s sponsor.

Kenorland Minerals shared the remaining results from the 2025 winter drill program at the Frotet Project, located in northern Quebec. Assays from the last 13 of 34 drill holes completed, including 8,865 metres of the 22,913-metre program were reported this morning. Results included 12.15m at 26.33 g/t Au incl. 1.80m at 99.64 g/t Au at the R6 Vein Set, 7.80m at 13.98 g/t Au incl. 1.15m at 81.01 g/t Au at R1, and 1.70m at 31.59 g/t Au incl. 0.35m at 145.90 g/t Au at R5. The 2025 winter drill program focused on stepping out along known mineralised structures as well as increasing confidence in vein system geometry and grade continuity through targeted infill drilling. Drill holes were optimised to maintain 50-100m spacing within the known mineralised footprint. The Company also announced the transfer of operatorship to Sumitomo Metal Mining as well as the initiation of the maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. Kenorland currently holds a 4% NSR Royalty on the Project. (TSXV: KLD) (OTCQX: KLDCF) News Release

AbraSilver reported assay results from three new drill holes from the ongoing Phase V exploration program at its wholly-owned Diablillos project in Argentina. The latest drill holes continue to expand the gold-bearing zone at Oculto East, intersecting consistent mineralization well beyond the current Mineral Resource outline. Results reported this morning included 60m of 1.05 g/t Au, 16m of 1.74 g/t Au and 17.3 g/t Ag, and 21m of 1.51 g/t Au and 49.5 g/t Ag. The company says these results reinforce the potential for continued growth and highlight Oculto East as a key focus area in the current exploration program. (TSX: ABRA) (OTCQX: ABBRF) News Release

Ivanhoe Mines says the Kakula Mine is commencing its Stage Two dewatering of the mine, which consists of the installation of four new high-capacity, submersible pumps and new permanent surface infrastructure to dewater the eastern side of the Kakula Mine from surface. "Stage Three" dewatering activities will start in late 2025, consisting of the rehabilitation and recommissioning of major existing pump stations on the eastern side of the Kakula Mine that are currently underwater. Kamoa-Kakula's engineering team is expected to provide Kamoa-Kakula's 2026 and 2027 copper production guidance in mid-late September 2025.
