Morning Briefing: Galiano Gold Expands Abore Mineralization with 32m of 4.7 g/t Au
Good morning and welcome back to the Mining Stock Daily morning briefing.
It's Monday, May 11.
Gold is down just over 1% to $4,682 an ounce, while silver is bucking the trend — up 1% to $81.74. The gold-silver ratio continues to compress, with silver outperforming meaningfully over the past several weeks. Copper is pushing higher to $6.40 a pound, with supply continuing to tighten amid the prolonged restart of Freeport's Grasberg mine in Indonesia.
This week's agenda for commodity markets is a full one. The US-Iran ceasefire framework remains stalled, with no confirmed response from Tehran to the proposed deal terms. Tuesday brings the April CPI print — a key read on whether the Fed has room to pivot. And Thursday, President Trump meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping, a summit that could meaningfully shift the outlook for trade, tariffs, and copper demand. Watch all three.
We’ll get to the news from the miners and explorers in just a moment, but first a word about today’s sponsor.
This episode of Mining Stock Daily is brought to you by…Integra Resources

And here's what you need to know this morning…..
Galiano Gold has expanded the Abore mineralized system at the Asanko Gold Mine in Ghana with new drill results including 32 metres at 4.7 grams per tonne gold and 53 metres at 3.9 grams per tonne gold — extending the high-grade underground corridor that has been the focus of the company's 2026 exploration program. The company has also expanded its 2026 exploration budget on the strength of results to date. Abore is the key growth driver for Galiano's underground development ambitions at Asanko (TSX: GAU, NYSE American: GAU). News Release
Brixton Metals has released new drill results from its Langis Silver Project in Ontario, with hole LM-26-321 returning 13.0 metres at 594 grams per tonne silver including 0.5 metres at 7,900 grams per tonne silver. The result adds to a strong run of high-grade intercepts from Langis in 2026, where earlier holes this year returned grades exceeding 82,000 grams per tonne silver in individual samples. Langis is a past-producing silver mine located approximately 500 kilometres north of Toronto with all-season road access and existing infrastructure (TSX-V: BBB, OTCQB: BBBXF). News Release
Capitan Silver has released new drill results from the Cruz De Plata silver-gold project in Durango, Mexico, intersecting 935 grams per tonne silver equivalent over 1.3 metres within a broader zone of 157 grams per tonne silver equivalent over 20.0 metres. The results are from the company's 60,000-metre 2026 drill program targeting extensions of the Jesus Maria Silver Trend at depth. Capitan upgraded to the OTCQX market in March (TSX-V: CAPT, OTCQX: CAPTF). News Release
Tocvan Ventures has released an update on the Gran Pilar Gold-Silver Project in Sonora, Mexico, reporting over 5,300 metres drilled to date across its 20,000-metre program with 21 holes totalling more than 4,400 metres awaiting assay results. Field teams on the South Block have discovered additional historic underground mine workings along the El Mezquite trend — a surface indicator of previous high-grade mining activity. On the development side, processing plant equipment for the fully permitted 50,000-tonne pilot facility has been ordered, and the company has signed a long-term community agreement with local stakeholders (CSE: TOC, OTCQB: TCVNF). News Release
Coppernico Metals is advancing the Tipicancha copper-gold target at its Sombrero Project in Peru ahead of initial drilling. Geological mapping has defined a hydrothermal alteration footprint extending over four kilometres, consistent with a district-scale porphyry-related system at depth. Shallow excavation sampling has confirmed near-surface copper enrichment, and the company is using ongoing mapping to finalize structural controls and drill targets for a program planned in the coming months (TSX: COPR, OTCQB: CPPMF). News Release
American Pacific Mining has commenced a field reconnaissance and surface sampling program at its Ziggurat Gold Project in Nye County, Nevada — a Carlin-type gold target in the Round Mountain Trend, near the multi-million-ounce Northumberland gold deposit. Field crews collected 59 rock samples and 20 stream sediment samples across priority areas identified through prior geochemical and geophysical work. The project has not yet been drill tested (CSE: USGD, OTCQX: USGDF). News Release
