Morning Briefing: American Pacific Drill Results Extend Known Mineralization at Madison
Good morning and welcome back to the Mining Stock Daily morning briefing.
It's Thursday, November 5th.
Gold is extending its gains this morning, up another one and a half percent to $4,121 an ounce, continuing the momentum from Wednesday's sharp move above $4,000 on the back of election results and a weaker dollar. Silver is holding its advance, up seven tenths of a percent to $52.63 an ounce. Copper is easing slightly, off a third of a percent to $6.38 a pound.
Paraguay's central bank chief resigned at President Santiago Pena's request Monday as authorities moved against digital lender Ueno, one of the country's largest digital banks with roughly 3 million customers and $850 million in public funds at risk. The crisis centers on allegations of excessive lending to companies tied to Ueno's ownership group, Grupo Vazquez, with eight arrests ordered and a criminal investigation underway. President Pena was himself a business partner of that ownership group until March 2025, complicating the official response. Paraguay's sovereign bonds came under pressure.
Ueno is not alone. At the end of October, Binance suspended all deposits and withdrawals after $6.3 billion was stolen via a compromised engineer's laptop, the largest crypto heist on record. TRM blockchain intelligence attributed the attack to North Korea's Lazarus Group with high confidence. Binance froze roughly $3 billion of the stolen funds, and Bitcoin fell five percent to below $77,000.

American Pacific Mining has reported exploration results from four holes testing new targets at the Madison Copper-Gold Project in southwest Montana, with three of the four returning gold mineralization in areas up to approximately 800 metres from the historical Madison Mine workings. Hole M26RC-01 returned 9.2 metres at 3.74 grams per tonne gold from 166 metres, including 4.6 metres at 7.02 grams per tonne. Hole M26RC-03 hit near-surface gold of 3.0 metres at 4.53 grams per tonne from just 15 metres depth. Hole M26RC-02 returned 15.2 metres at 1.03 grams per tonne. These holes tested areas separate from the high-grade massive sulfide zone, where previous drilling returned 30.8 metres at 7.40 grams per tonne gold. Additional assays from the 2026 program remain pending. American Pacific Mining trades on the Canadian Securities Exchange as USGD and on the OTCQX as USGDF. NEWS RELEASE
Sierra Madre Gold and Silver has commenced a 30,000-metre exploration drill program in the East District of the La Guitarra project in the State of Mexico. The company received an East District exploration drilling permit in July 2026, and this program represents its largest commitment to exploration in that corridor. La Guitarra is a producing silver-gold complex that includes the Guitarra and Nazareno underground mines, with the processing plant now running at up to 720 tonnes per day. The East District program targets ground adjacent to the producing mines and is designed to test district-scale potential beyond the current mine plans. Hole 26MJ057 returned 6.15 metres at 4.10 grams per tonne gold from 224 metres depth, including 1.05 metres at 14.65 grams per tonne. The Gabbro Target lies to the west of the main gold lodes and had seen limited previous drilling. FireFox Gold trades on the TSX Venture Exchange as FFOX and on the OTCQB as FFOXF. NEWS RELEASE
Andina Copper has released results from drill hole CDH014 at the Cobrasco porphyry copper-molybdenum discovery in Choco, Colombia, confirming the extension of high-grade near-surface copper mineralization approximately 350 metres to the northwest of previous drilling. The hole returned 212 metres at 0.50% copper from 52 metres depth, including 76 metres at 1.00% copper and a highest-grade interval of 32 metres at 1.48% copper from 60 metres, with individual 2-metre samples returning up to 2.59% copper. CDH014 was drilled from the same pad as the previous hole, CDH013, to test lateral and vertical continuity. Cobrasco has now seen 14 holes and approximately 11,000 metres of drilling, outlining a footprint of copper mineralization roughly 1,300 metres by 550 to 700 metres that remains open in multiple directions. A second drill rig is expected to mobilize this quarter to accelerate expansion. Andina Copper trades on the TSX Venture Exchange as ANDC and on the OTCQB as PMMCF. NEWS RELEASE
Brixton Metals has released initial scoping-level metallurgical results from three composite types at the Camp Creek system within the Thorn Project in northwest British Columbia, with all three returning strong gold and copper recoveries through conventional gravity and rougher flotation. The porphyry composite returned 97.2% copper rougher recovery and 88.8% overall gold recovery. The Oban Breccia composite, with a head grade of 1,280 grams per tonne silver, returned 97.3% copper rougher recovery and 93.1% overall gold recovery, with a rougher concentrate grading nearly 10 grams per tonne gold and nearly 3,000 grams per tonne silver. The near-surface high-sulphidation veins composite returned 96.9% overall gold recovery, with 6% of the gold reporting to a gravity concentrate grading 279 grams per tonne. Together with metallurgical work at the Trapper Gold Target reported last month, these results will feed a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate for Camp Creek targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
